Pastor Adriano and Maria José Luiz, together with our two sons Adriano Lucas and Ester, have been serving the Lord in the Baptist Church in Várzea, Rio Grande do Norte, since November 2010. In our ministry here in Várzea, we have done evangelistic work on the streets with services and home visits, discipleship with new converts, and work with children on the streets.

I (Pastor Adriano) accepted Jesus in 1994, in the church in Santo Antônio, my wife Maria, accepted Jesus as her saviour in 1997 also in the church in Santo Antônio. I was baptised 1997 and was married in 2005.

In 2004 I felt the conviction that God was calling me into the ministry, but my wife did not like it when we talked about it, and in 2005, I told the Lord that I would only pray and not talk about the calling any longer, this lasted for four years.

God, however, in 2009 changes the story, and my wife comes to me and comments to me about my calling, I cried when God put those words on her lips. In 2010, we started our life in the ministry, still working in a printing press.

In January 2012, Pastor José Carlos was going to make a visit to Rio Grande do Norte, and I was called by Pastor Emanuel, to go to the Youth Congress to talk, where Pastor José Carlos gave me an invitation to work in the mission. It was something inexplicable, how God guided every step of our ministry here in Várzea.

We thank you for your prayers and everyone's support. I don't personally know many there in Northern Ireland and I don't know if we will ever meet here on this earth, but when I get to heaven I will meet my brothers one by one.
