Surprising, astonishing, and amazing are only a few of the adjectives that describe the sixty-five years of Acre Gospel Mission. This is an account of how God used ordinary people to do extraordinary things: the devotion of the early pioneers through hardships, and the faithful endeavours of dedicated men and women who bravely trusted the Lord in the most adverse situations.

So much positive feedback followed the publication of the first volume, A Word for Your Way, that Victor Maxwell decided to write another daily devotional. Like the first, these daily readings alternate between meditations on God’s Word and reflections from God’s work; what God says to our hearts, and how He works in our lives.

Victor Maxwell has completed a new book in appreciation of our colleague, Dr Bill Woods, who went to be with his Saviour on the 6th of November 2023.

The biography of Dr Bill Woods. Born, reared and educated in Belfast, Bill went to Brazil’s Amazon as a missionary, became overwhelmed with the suffering of thousands and dedicated his life to relieve that suffering. His work has been acclaimed by medical and civil authorities in both Latin America and the United Kingdom. This book will touch and inspire you, and at times will make you laugh or cry.

The Bible is full of God’s promises, all of them secured by His character and faithfulness. In this book Victor Maxwell cites forty of God’s servants, to encourage us to step out on His promises every day.

Hazel Miskimmen looks back on a life that was more than satisfying: it was spent and invested for the glory of God. The story of her life’s investment as a nurse and as a missionary, and a legacy which lives on through the lives of others.

There is no greater adventure than living in the will of God. Allen and Ada Loney proved that “good, perfect and acceptable will of God” during more than fifty years of missionary service in the Amazon rainforest of Brazil and the Alentejo region of Portugal with Acre Gospel Mission.
