Brazil is the largest country in South America and the only south American county to speak Portuguese. It is the 5th largest country in the world with a population of around 200 million people. The work commenced in Brazil in 1937 when William & Margaret McComb went out to reach the people of the Acre State and Amazonas with the Gospel. Today we have many Brazilian workers who are carrying on the work of the missionaries in Church planting, Pastoral ministry, Children and schools Ministry, Radio Ministry and Evangelism not only in Acre, Amazonas but also in Rio Grande De Norte in North East Brazil
Portugal is one of the poorer countries of the EU. Less than 1% of the 11 million people who live in Portugal are classed as being Evangelical. Traditional Catholicism remains influential even though freedom of religion has been experienced since the 1974 revolution. Rapid secularisation, materialism, alcoholism and drug abuse have contributed to the slow growth in the Evangelical church. Many more workers are needed for ministry and evangelism, church planting and Bible training. The spiritual liberation of portugal is the missionaries goal. Acre Missionaries work in The Algarve and Alentejo regions of Portugal today.
The Canary Islands form an archipelago of seven Islands off Africa’s northwest coast. Evangelical churches are small and the number of believers is less than 0.1% of the total population of 140,000 people. Over 10.000 ex-pats also live on the Island. Our Missionaries work alongside Fieide (Federation of Independent Evangelical Churches in Spain) in evangelism and church planting. The work is small but the need is great! The scattered groups of believers across these Islands ask for Bible teaching on a regular basis. We would also in the future like to establish and English speaking work. Please pray with us that God will send more missionaries to Lanzarote to help in the work there.Pastor Ricardo & His wife Sandra work along side the church in Arecife. They are involved in many various types of ministry including Old peoples homes, Hospital chaplaincy , Prison ministry, Children’s ministry along with the everyday church activities.In August 2018, a team of young people from Northern Ireland joined the church Arrecife to conduct their very first Children’s Camp.
The mission headquarters are in Spa, Ballynahinch, Northern Ireland. The workers in Northern Ireland are involved with deputation meetings, children’s work, ladies’ & men’s meetings and Bible studies. If you would like more information please contact us.
